The 10-song album we've been working on is complete. It's coming to you in April - although if you follow along the email list (or cruise around the site), you might get to hear it early ๐.
Also, we're celebrating a bit for it on April 24th. Catch us at the BNH Stage in Concord with our friends Regals and Hey, I'm outside.
Where We've Been
In the beginning of our story, which was 2023, it was a rush to just get stuff out. We were still finding our sound. Jake and Trent had a smattering of songs and lots of ideas - both finished and unfinished, and Mike had riffs on riffs, and all that material definitely laid the groundwork as we got going.
But as we built band reporte, more and more riffs would stick. At a certain point it was too much. There was too much really good, and exciting material.
For one reason or another, though, we picked the ones to take on and flesh out. Little pet song projects to nurture and evolve. Little pet sounds ๐.
So on we went for awhile until we locked into a groove of really writing together - intentionally NOT bringing in fully fleshed out songs to the band.
Enter, "Off The Grid," the song. It's inception dates back to fall '23. (See what I mean about having too much material?) By no means our first collaborave effort, but a defining one. Coming off Back To You, it was this Mike riff that Trent and Jake sort of devoured- as they are wont to do.
"For me this was just a really exciting song to work on and discover together as a group. It was just one of those ones that I remember the feeling of it coming together and thinking "Ok, we have evolved our sound for sure." -Trent
And so we sort of rallied around this track. It became a nucleus of sorts for what would become this album. There are still a couple "Trent" songs and a couple "Jake" songs. But what really makes this album special for us is it marks a moment where we all really embraced writing and composing together, and allowing ourselves to step away from the indie-folk thing we had been experimenting around.
"Off The Grid" (the album)
There's indie-rock flair across it, balanced with acoustic driven tunes. It's the grown-up version of our 2024 EPs Back to You and Big Plans. The acoustic guitar still remains a central thread amidst the album's dynamic range.

Where we're heading
Another exciting aspect of this album is that we're already working on the next one. Without unlimited resources or major label support (looking at you, Polyvinyl), making an album simply takes time. So we're already heading back to the studio to start a new batch of songs. But, let's not get too ahead of ourselves here.
